2025 Poteau Lady Pirates – Basketball Preview – Presented by Sockey Insurance

POTEAU LADY PIRATES

COACH: Jarrett Lowrimore

Record: 3–21

OUTLOOK

Entering his first season as head coach of the Poteau Lady Pirates, Jarrett Lowrimore is focused on laying a strong foundation built on daily improvement, effort, and culture. “We are looking to build a new culture and identity with this program as we enter my first year as the head coach. We are process focused. Our goal is to get better each day. We build our culture first then that helps establish our identity on the floor,” said Lowrimore. With several returning players who gained valuable minutes last year and a promising group of newcomers, the Lady Pirates are energized for a fresh start. “This is a group that many returning pieces gain valuable playing experience last year. Along with a few nice additions. This group is hungry to go compete. It’s a daily process so our focus will be on getting better each day and being ready to compete in our tough schedule,” he added.

Leading the way is senior forward Ava Zink (5-8, Sr.), the team’s Top 100 nominee and a player Lowrimore believes can be dominant on both ends of the floor. “Next level type athlete that will impact the floor on both ends. Missed a significant amount of time with an injury last year, has rebounded with a great spring and summer,” Lowrimore said. “She is a top-notch defender with a unique build with her length and unmatched athleticism… Her improvement with her offensive skill set will show up in a big way.”

The senior class also features Emma Hackler (5-7, Sr.), Gracie Spradley (5-7, Sr.), and a deep, athletic lineup ready to contribute across the floor.

One of the biggest young talents stepping in is freshman guard Kira Reineman (5-8, Fr.), the program’s Underclassman to Watch. Lowrimore sees star-level potential in her early on. “Has a chance to be a day one difference maker as a PG. Has an elite skill set combined with a competitiveness and athleticism that will immediately impact our games,” he said. “She will be a tough guard as well as bringing the ability to be an elite defender.”

Junior guard Yuli Munoz (5-7, Jr.) represents the heart of the team as the Character Counts honoree. Lowrimore praised her leadership, saying, “Unbelievable young lady. Always has a smile on her face. Extremely hard working, extremely coachable. She is a great teammate and classmate. She is a coach’s dream.”

With a renewed culture, high-level athletes, and an energized roster featuring players such as Kennedi Williams (5-7, Jr.), Kenzi Williams, Kinlee Taylor (6-1, Jr.), Lextyn Soehlman (5-10, Jr.), Jaylind Renteria (5-6, Jr.), Alivia Loggains (5-7, So.), Hadessah Owens (5-8, So.), Kamrin Williams (5-11, Fr.), Solei Hackler (5-8, Fr.),  Katy Jordan (5-7, Fr.), Jordyn Smith (5-9, Fr.), Eden Moore (5-7, Fr.), Emma Waddell (5-10, Fr.), Katicyn Waugh (5-7, Fr.), and Ragen Angnabooguk (5-9, Fr.), the Lady Pirates are building something new—and something promising.
